JSI / RTV Living Lab, Slovenia

RTV/JSI Slovenia Living Lab is jointly organized by Jozef Stefan Institute and Radio-Television Slovenija in the context of the P2P-Next project. The Living Lab goal is to provide innovative P2P based multimedia services in Slovenia based on Next-Share technology developed in the project. Currently, live network streaming of RTV channels is provided in full DVB-T quality. Additional services are planned and will be deployed when available. NORUT Living Lab, Norway

The Far North Living Lab has a main focus on digital media and distribution to reflect the very creative environment found in the North of Norway.

The lab will provide basic services to all projects that use it, like high speed network connectivity, data storage and P2P distribution technology and. It is also noteable that the Far North Living Lab covers a great physical distance, Northern Norway is a very big place, and reaching the creative souls and the magnificent nature of the whole region is of utmost importance. How is the lab organised?

Far North Living Lab obtained status as a member of the European Network of Living Labs in the fourth wave of acceptance in March 2010. The lab was found to meet all criteria for a membership.

ULANC Living Lab, UK

Lancaster University, UK is a world-class centre of excellence in Computer Science Networking. Lancaster University is also a co-founder of the RuralConnect Living Lab, whose goal is to provide advanced media services to rural communities in the North West of England. The RuralConnect Living Lab provides different services delivered using a range of networking technologies to groups such as Wray Community and students resident on campus connected to ResNet.

The RuralConnect Living Lab obtained status as a member of the European Network of Living Labs in the fourth wave of acceptance in March 2010.

UPB Living Lab, Romania

The UPB Living Lab is located in the Automatic Control and Computers Faculty, University Politehnica of Bucharest. It provides high speed access to Peer-to-Peer technology-enabled content through 10 systems kindly provided by the NCIT cluster.

The main trial site offers access to local content, instructions on using the site and P2P-Next technology. Support is currently offered through e-mail.

As part of the NCIT cluster, UPB LL's systems use high bandwidth (1Gbit) links and are seeding content presented by the main site.

The UPB LL is focused on providing high speed access to content, swarm monitoring and gathering relevant information regarding inner protocol workings and client/swarm performance.

VTT Living Lab, Finland

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is a globally networked multitechnological contract research organization. VTT provides high-end technology solutions and innovation services. VTT Living Lab focuses on user-centered open innovation research and development of P2P based multimedia services. VTT Living Lab works together with media companies and organizations to experiment and evaluate of innovative P2P ideas, concepts and related technologies.

More information about the current P2P experiments is available on VTTs Open Web Lab Owela. Owela is an online laboratory that utilizes social media features for participatory design and open innovation. It?s a place, where users, researchers and companies can meet each other.
