The P2P-Next project Living Lab is the place to experience the brand new NextShare streaming service. The software is free to use and you can test the software here, sign up below for access to future technical trials or visit a trial site to access rich content right away.
What Exactly is NextShare?
NextShare is the name of the reference platform being developed as part of the P2P-Next project. This platform will enable the following features and services through both a PC and a digital set-top-box (STB) platform:
- video - lots and lots of live and on-demand video.
- online - all you need is a Broadband Internet connect to experience the service
- interactive - experience web style content through NextShare.
- free - most of the content is free, so sign up and experience the next generation TV experience right away
What is a LivingLab
We have created a series of European Living Labs (or Trial Sites) to provide early access to the technologies we are developing and to gain valuable feeback from good people like you. It's your chance to try and influence the technology of tomorrow, today! We are still working on lots and lots of new features for NextShare, it's not quite finished yet and we need your help!
Who developed it?
NextShare is being built by a consortium of 21 partners, including broadcasters, technical universities and hardware vendors. Together we are building a new, software-based, legal, peer-to-peer distribution system. For more information, visit the project web site

Can I try it?
Sure, visit the download section now to download the current software release and access the sample content. You can also visit one of our trial sites depending on which country you live in within Europe.
